Profile description
In reputation protection, I have expertise in adverse media or online interest which requires fast and reliable advice and/or injunctive relief. My clients have included household names in sports and entertainment, multinational companies, governments and ultra-high-net-worth individuals.
I have a wealth of industry knowledge: I undertook pupillage with top media law Chambers 5RB; I have worked in three of the most pre-eminent media law firms (Harbottle & Lewis, Carter-Ruck and Simons Muirhead and Burton); and have worked in-house at most major British media outlets, including the BBC and The Mirror. I am also an NCTJ accredited journalist.
I offer pre-publication 'libel reading' advice for newspapers, scriptwriters, publishers and broadcasters. My clearance experience includes numerous Hollywood scripts, theatrical productions, television shows and books.
My work in data protection law includes advice on data breaches, subject access requests and the implications of the GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018.
Where a resolution is sought outside of litigation, I have experience in mediation and advising in relation to media and entertainment regulation, including dealing with IPSO, OfCom and BBC Editorial Guidelines complaints for claimants and the media.
With regard to less urgent matters, I can assist well in advance of court proceedings, coupled with the provision of advocacy and advisory services for litigation and general common law matters.
